Upto 24 - Days South Africa/ Botswana/ Zambia/ Malawi/ Moçambique
Option 1: 12 days Johannesburg to Lilongwe (Malawi) via Botswana (North Capricorn Adventure)
It is possible to leave this tour in Lilongwe making a 12 day itinerary for those looking for a shorter tour.
Option 2: 13 days Lilongwe (Malawi) to Johannesburg via Mocambique (South Capricorn Adventure)
It is also possible to shorten the above tour to a 13 day itinerary by joining in Lilongwe and ending in Johannesburg. Ideal for those looking for a combination of wildlife and tropical beaches. The Highlights

Itinerary
DAY 1:Johannesburg - Botswana Border
An early departure from our hotel in Johannesburg takes us north where we set up camp near the Botswana border.
DAY 2: Makgadikgadi Pans - Botswana
Travelling via Francistown the night is spent at Nata. We visit Makgadikgadi Pans (weather permitting) for a truly unforgettable sunset over what remains of an ancient 6500km2 lake (weather permitting).
DAY 3: Chobe River - Kasane
Camp is set up on the banks of the Chobe River, an area famous for its beautiful scenery, magnificent sunsets and abundance of wildlife and birdlife. We enjoy a game viewing cruise on the Chobe River.
DAY 4/ 5: Livingstone/ Victoria Falls
"MOSI-OA-TUNYA"
- the smoke that thunders We travel across the Zambian border to Livingstone from where we may view Victoria Falls - without doubt one of the greatest and most spectacular sights in Africa. Days are spent at leisure to browse the local markets, to experience the many optional activities on offer in the adrenalin capital of Africa including white water rafting, bungi jumping, microlighting/ airplane or helicopter over the Falls, rhino walks, elephant back safaris etc. and to visit the Falls (own expense). (All meals excluding 1 lunch & 1 dinner).
DAY 6: Lower Zambezi - Zambia
Travelling through southern Zambia we set up camp on the banks of the Zambezi River at Kiambi Camp and enjoy the sunset from the deck overlooking the river.
DAY 7/ 8: Zambezi Canoeing
We board our canoes for a 2-day excursion on the Zambezi River. Whilst paddling downstream with the gentle current of the river, we relax and enjoy the profound sense of peace, tranquility and abundant wildlife and birdlife. (B, L, D).
DAY 9: Luangwa River
Continuing through Zambia via the capital city of Lusaka our camp is installed near the Luangwa River.
DAY 10/ 11: South Luangwa National Park
The ecologically unspoilt South Luangwa National Park is undoubtedly one of the finest wildlife sanctuaries in Africa. We enjoy watching the wildlife come to drink at the river in front of our camp and an early morning game drive in the 9050km2 park, which is home to numerous predators and species of antelope. The birdlife is a birdwatcher’s delight. Optional night game drive (own expense).
DAY 12/ 13: Lake Malawi
The lake, with its crystal clear waters, sandy beaches and beautiful bays, is surrounded by high rugged peaks and mountains. We set up camp on the lakeshore, swim, suntan and relax for two days.
DAY 14/ 15: Mount Mulanje - Malawi
An early start takes us to Mount Mulanje, which is one of the most impressive sights in Malawi. Unique forests of Mulanje cedar cover the slopes. We hike up the mountain and return to our base camp in the late afternoon.
DAY 16: Chicamba Area - Moçambique
Entering Moçambique we cross the Zambezi River at Tete and enter the scenic eastern highland mountains with their many scattered traditional African villages. The evening is spent around the campfire enjoying the solitude of our bush camp.
DAY 17/ 18: Vilanculos/ Inhassorro
We set up camp overlooking the azure waters of the Moçambique coast. Days are spent at leisure swimming, simply relaxing on the beach or enjoying one of the optional activities including snorkeling and diving (own expense). In the evenings we sample the local seafood cooked over an open fire. (B, L, D).
DAY 19/ 20:
Crossing the Tropic of Capricorn we travel south to Morrongulu. Our delightful campsite under the coconut palms near the wide deserted beaches, allows us to swim during the day in the warm blue waters of the Indian Ocean. From here it is possible to enjoy deep-sea fishing and scuba diving or snorkelling the colourful reefs off the coastline (own expense).
DAY 21: Casa Lisa
The colourful and vibrant local markets, the social and economic hub of life in the towns and villages, provide the visitor with an insight into the richness of the local culture. Our camp at Casa Lisa is situated north of Maputo.
DAY 22/23: Kruger National Park – South Africa
Returning to South Africa we enter the famous wildlife sanctuary of the Kruger National Park, one of the oldest game reserves in Africa. Our time is spent on early morning and late afternoon game drives observing numerous species of animals and birds and relaxing in camp during midday. Optional night game drive (own expense).
DAY 24: Johannesburg
After an early morning game drive we leave Kruger Park ending at +-16h00.
